Splitting articles
[edit]@BJCHK @Malvoliox I think instead of having one big repository of biographies, we can take each biography and make a page about each Mayor. That is after we tackle all the uncited information. One of the previous topics on this talk page, someone was talking about the sources being Oakland's libraries. If one of you all live near there, I guess you could verify this. If not, either we would have to delete that or try to access those sources. AsaQuathern (talk) 17:20, 10 March 2025 (UTC)
- I just came here initially because I was looking at other mayor lists. I agree that biographies belong on mayors' separate pages, and this page should still exist, but back in wiki table form with minimal details. ~Malvoliox (talk | contribs) 17:22, 10 March 2025 (UTC) ~Malvoliox (talk | contribs) 17:22, 10 March 2025 (UTC)
- Looking further, most of the mayors already have their own biography pages -- some of which are shorter than the information in this list page. I'm not sure if it's a project I can handle, but I might be able to contribute a little. I'm all for splitting out all details beyond ~1 sentence per mayor into their respective biographies, and fully remove content we can't find a source to back up. ~Malvoliox (talk | contribs) 19:51, 10 March 2025 (UTC)
- @AsaQuathern@Malvoliox I was in the mood for some grunt work, so was happy to create the table and split the biographies up for easier access. Will leave any further plans to others. Thanks! BJCHK (talk) 00:05, 11 March 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you very much for your service! I think the next thing to do is mass deletions of unsourced info. AsaQuathern (talk) 00:07, 11 March 2025 (UTC)
